Mad as Hell Part 1

It is 9:18am on Thursday, April27th in the year of our Lord 2006. I have just logged off the Internet. My head is aching and my heart is heavy. I have had enough for a while.

Earlier this morning I had popped online to check up on some stories I have posted. Then I decided to switch over and catch up on the news. My newest passion is writing, but before that, I have thoroughly enjoyed eschatology. Eschatology is the study of present day events in accordance with end time prophecy. I get updates from several web news organizations several times daily and I am linked to quite a few others.

So, here I am, in my pajamas (I don’t have to work today, YES!), sipping my beloved Dr. Pepper. As I am scrolling through a news sight, I come across an article about a student at the University of Oregon.

If you rewind your memory a few months, you will recall how an artist had distastefully depicted “Allah” in several cartoons. The Muslim world was in an uproar. Chaos and violence followed. They are now calling for the life of the cartoonist.

This student from Oregon decided to teach the Christians a lesson about how the Muslims felt having their god defiled. So he took an eye for an eye. He defiled Jesus. He drew Jesus on the cross with an erection. He drew Jesus kissing another man, both with erections. There are several other pictures, but I had had enough. I was disgusted.

Further down the article, it explained that people were so upset, they sent a letter. THEY SENT A LETTER! This is what our passion for Christ has done for us…WE SEND A LETTER? Oh, but it was to the Governor of Oregon. Oops, my mistake. That will fix the problem.

Just so there is no mistake, MY JESUS IS MY LIFE. He has carried me through so much that I wouldn’t know where to begin. The stories that I have written are a testimony to that. From my house burning down when I was a little girl, helping my brother in his time of need, working his magic through the love of my daughter, helping me to overcome self esteem issues to giving me memories that make my heart sing, I LOVE MY JESUS. Let me shout it from the mountaintops!

I am so filled with anger. How dare they take someone I love so much and spit on Him?

Do these people not know what they are doing?
