Another poem writen whilst on holiday. I did enjoy the holiday, honest.
Round and round my mind is swirling
Hues and colours, lights and shades
Changing shapes are warping, turning
As the sense from this scene fades

Sounds and voices whirl around me
Chasing me towards the end
As my fears return to hound me
Ripping wounds I cannot mend

As I lay there panting, bleeding
Listening as my heart rate slows
They all gather darkly feeding
On life blood which from me flows

Will I wake up sweating, screaming
Find myself all safe in bed
Or will blood from me keep on streaming
Running from me till I’m dead

So it’s Death, I see him near me
As my heart it fills with dread
And he says, “You need not fear me,
For you are already dead.”
