This is a story written to someone I cared for. Story of love and existence to some.
A Dragon, A Love

The ground shook, the people shuddered, animals scattered, the air heated up. The village dwellers knew who was approaching but it still scared them every time. Every time she came near with her pet, her companion. The beautiful Dionne and her majestic red dragon from which she rode. Why she rode such a beast is what our story is about. In the earlier years of lady Dionnes life when she was dragonless she met many a fellow, gentleman callers if you will. You see lady Dionne was the fairest in the land. Her long dark hair, big brown eyes piercing through her angelic face brought many men to their knees. Her heart was pure although and she seeked the truest love in the land to be her companion for life. Many knights, peasants, blacksmiths what have you tried without success to win her heart. After for which her kind heart grew cold and unforgiving if you will. She turned to the darker side and went into the forgotten land and when she came back from which she came she was one with a dragon.
Meanwhile while all this was happening there was a prince Jerry who carried much love in his heart. He seeked all the land for his true love, the one who could make fluttering in his heart, make the butterflies play within his stomach. The one woman who could make his head feel lighter than air, goosebumps rise on his body proudly. The one who could move him to move mountains for her. For you see this prince was wonderful indeed but a dreamer by nature and didn't show the where with all to rule a kingdom one day bringing much distress to the King his father, the Queen his mother and all the townspeople in the land that they ruled. The King on a majestic thorough search sent his best men to look far and beyond to find the fairest of them all to unite with his prince, his son. They were not to return until their mission was complete. Well they rode for many a mile without much success until one day after getting much word of a fair lady of much beauty who traveled with a dark beast might be the one. They pursued until one day they finally came upon her. She looked upon them with much disdain as they approached her in flowered field near a stream from which her and her dragon rested as they had there many times before flying off to another fruitful adventure. When told of their mission much laughter arose from Dionnes now heartless and dark heart. "A prince, a prince? oh please tell me no more of this lost creature who searches for true love which I know, I know does not exist, not on this planet or this entire universe, for I have seen with my own trustful eyes that love is a fruitless cause", she explained to them very bluntly nearly causing them to move onto another. But they were tired, so very tired of their search and knew despite her very to the point proclamation that she was not interested in such time wasting on endeavors of love a thing that did not exist in her mind, her soul. Not sure why, maybe an itch suddenly needed scratching but Dionne turned before mounting upon her dragon to leave turned to the very tired sad looking love searchers and said to them in a what am I doing voice, "where is this pathetic prince you speak of"? With much surprise and relief they excitedly turned to her and pointed the way. Without much further ado Dionne climbed aboard her companion and flew off to this poor excuse for a prince who she thought surely was just like the rest loveless, fake men she had experienced in her past. As she approached the kingdom the kingdom that for which lived the prince, Dionnes heart warmed. She thought surely that was her dragon friend beneath her warming her ticker but her head became light as well. She tried with much force to shake off these feelings, feelings that she had not quite ever felt before. Knowing dragons of any kind where purely restricted within the castle gates Dionne directed her dragon near a wooded area near the castle walls. Upon landing safely she set up camp and waited for the slow footed horses in comparison to her dragons flight to arrive upon this castle. Finally after half of a day they arrived breathless, excited and yes very very tired. Without much haste they informed the king who informed prince Jerry of the creatures for which awaited him in the forest nearby. The king thought little of a dragon flying potential princess but was growing tiresome of the efforts to get the prince his son together with his one, his true love. As morning approached the prince Jerry slept restless again wondering if she was out there somewhere his lady of everything, the one if you will he could dedicate his life to. Well little did he knew what the day had in store for him, a lady, a mystical wonderful although a little untrusting to his kind, lady outside his own future perhaps castle gates waiting for sunlight to peak over the mountains so that she could meet this so called love seeker. The sun did rise that day as it had promised every day. The prince Jerry was awaken particularly early for his liking for his surprise the king his father had set up for him without his much knowing. With one tired eye he reluctantly dressed and waited with kings guards for the gate the castle gate to drop so he could see this lady, the one, the king says, meet him and disappoint him like many had before. Well the gate the castle gate dropped, the prince Jerry with guards in hand moved toward the forest nearby for which lady Dionne dragon in hand awoken to the promised sun rising and saw a single soul walking toward her, sun behind him blinding her view. Lady Dionne not normally concerned with decent appearances on her self fixed herself up as best she could for which she thought would be another disappointing meeting and relationship with a fellow of fake heart pureness. He prince Jerry finally had taken the final steps to get in comfortable distance of lady Dionne. He stood upon her in all his majesty. He was totally taken by her. She was beyond beauty, beauty did no justice to how she looked to him. They talked, there hearts melted, they floated seemingly as they walked around a bit. He was in love, she was in love, on that day love was invented, cupid was born. Needless to say when the time to part for the day had arrived, Dionne lost faith in her overwhelming feeling for him. Despite never coming close to feeling the way she did ever in her lifetime of any other lifetime that her soul occupied a body her thoughts of past failures of love grew strong in her mind. When asked if she would bid farewell to her dragon and join him in this kingdom which would be his in the future to be she lady Dionne thought better of such happiness with a prince, her one true love a love invented on that day when cupid was born to begin flicking his arrows upon others, she mounted her dragon and moved on. You see lady Dionne still couldn't slay that dragon in her mind that true love existed, existed on that day. She would for the rest of her life live that in a viscous circle never to love true, to feel the newly born cupids arrow pierce her heart leaving her helpless to the pings of love...........................oh Dionne open your heart to true love.
