A story about a desperate mom and her ill son.....
The sea breeze played with my dark hairs in the dark night. My dark eyes were fixed on the horizon where the evening was becoming night: a dark night. I wondered about my son who had a cardiac malfunction last week and who was now in the hospital bed desperate to wear NEW SHOES!

He opened his eyes and I asked him,
"How are you feeling son?"
"Fine..... Can I ask you something?" there was pain in his voice.
"Yeah....Go on!"
"Mom can you buy me a pair of new shoes??"
I brushed his hairs back form his forehead and saw in his blue eyes. Those eyes had: dreams to had; games to play; friends to make; scenes to enjoy. I decided that no matter what I will buy him a pair of shoes.

It was night now, I got up from the beach and reached my home. The home where I got married where I received my son. The home which was now empty but yet full: filled with the sweet memories of my late husband; of my sweet son, when he was healthy.I went to the kitchen and opened the drawer to get all the money which I had left with. But as I was leaving the lounge I saw a piece of paper with my son's drawing on it. I picked it up and saw that a house was drawn neatly along with a bright sun shining on horizon and some green trees. Before the house there were two people one a kid named ME and other a woman named MOM. When I read the heading of the drawing, my tears soaked the paper. It was written:
"A HAPPY FAMILY?"

After composing myself again I got up to go to the market to buy him a pair of shoes. Everyone there was happy, rejoicing every moment with their loved ones! I had that time too but.......

I bought the most expensive shoes and had them packed. I left the market and headed for the hospital.

I did not had a clue what the nature had decided for me that night!

When I opened the door to my son's room I saw two doctors and a nurse.
"WE ARE SORRY! HE IS NO MORE!"

The shoes fell to the groung making a "thud"!
