These are lyrics I wrote down one hot Saturday watching a girl at the car wash.
Car Wash Girl

Working all day in the hot sun
Wiping down car isn’t much fun
But you keep on smiling through the day
You gotta work at something anyway

Car wash girl
Won’t you come home with me?
Car wash girl
We’ll drink some beer and watch TV.

Some work here just marking time.
They know there is something better down the line.
But for you it’s either washing cars
Or waiting tables in cafes or bars.

Car wash girl
Won’t you come home with me?
Car wash girl
I’ll rub your back while we watch TV.

I don’t look through you like you’re not there.
I watch the sun shine on your hair.
Why don’t you come home with me?
We’ll dream big dreams ‘cause dreams are free.

Turning brown out in the sun so hot,
But it ain’t a beach, it’s a parking lot.
Sometimes a big tip will come your way,
But it doesn’t happen every day.

Car wash girl
Won’t you come home with me?
Car wash girl
I’ll take you to Mexico with me.

Car wash girl
Won’t you come home with me?
Car wash girl
We’ll drink some beer and watch TV.
