A look into the rationalizations of an abused paramour.
Falls.
Drops.
Flights.
Doors.
Excuses never ending,
Flimsy, unbelievable,
and Oh! So condemning.
It’s my fault, always mine,
Never yours.
You could never hurt me,
You’d never hurt a fly,
I say.
They look at me,
With those disbelieving eyes.
Forced by law to accept my
Feeble concotions
As Truth.
But we both know
Who the real culprit is
And so it continues.
Because you know
I will never betray you.
And that I would rather die,
Than be alone.
