Almost isn't good enough...
She reaches up, gently caressing his face with her fingertips
He pushes her hand away, then moves in closer for the kiss
Not yet did his eyes close, he had a fear that he'd miss
He watched her close HER eyes, as she parted her lips

Then their lips connected, his kiss was soft and gentle
His touch drove her wild, she had a fear of going mental
She leaned back, he leaned forward, then she went to lean in too
But made sure no make-up was on the shirt, 'cause his tux was a rental

His hands moved slowly downward, then settled down on her waist
And now the second kiss was over, he stares into her face
He wonders if he should move faster, or if she''s okay with this pace
The tightens his grip on her, in a golden embrace

She slowly removes his hands, but keeps a solid grip on one
Then reaches up for another kiss, so he'd know they're not done
They reach an empty room, she begins to undo her bun
His heart begins to race, as if he'd just finished a run

No matter what she does her eyes stay fixed on him
She smiles a small smile, and starts to show more skin
But then there's a knock on the door, and the familiar voice of their friends
Yelling, "time to go, the proms about to begin!"
