A poem of betrayal and happy endings.
Knowing he's much better puts a smug look on my face. The one i've loved with all my heart could beat anyone here. While hearing them all playing, I think of someone who can play better, hearing them singing, I think of the one person whom I loved.
He writes of soaring eagles, watching over me. He thinks of a beautiful face, belonging to me. I wish I had been the only girl he loved, apart from his sisters and mother, But as he's so good, he must love another.
Another girl takes his heart but I thought there'd always be room for me, right in the centre taking pride of place.
I thought: I f I could win his heart back, to be solely mine, I will share his heart and he can share mine.
But that's all in the past now, I have moved on. For I must love another and leave that life behind.
