Love bears witness to everything, happy and sad, but mostly sad.
Love Bears Witness

No one cries because God's not here,
and the knowledge is making everyone numb.
They silently file past the wooden casket;
actually believing that she's gone.

A young girl sits in the back, holds no hand.
Is she the only one to feel how this isn't painless?
She cries because He took her mother.
She doesn't cry because He's gone.

The young girl and her lover fight.
How desperatley she wishes to go back to that day,
when she sat in the chaple's final pew.
Soon she will be gone.

The young girl breaks more hearts.
She ends her remorse and adds to the pain.
Leaping into her eternal chasm;
the earth shatters, she is gone.

Everyone cries because she has left them forever,
and it's inpossible to avoid feeling how she hurt.
They weep and place flowers on the wooden casket,
not believing that such a young girl is gone.
