A villenelle about two people who can only admit their love when they are high.
Past Their Lover's Days

They talked to each other past their lover's days;
Each in denial of feelings still existent.
They could only see when they looked through purple haze.

She was in full knowledge that his feelings shant fade.
He had grown numb to her, this he was insistant,
But they talked to each other past their lover's days.

Both lost in a pained and poisonous maze,
He and she experimenting with things most potent.
They could only see when they looked through purple haze.

Accompanied by addiction, down she lays.
He, concerned for her well being remains existent.
They talked to each other past their lover's days.

Forever patient, a great love, dormant stays;
Awakens, when both are under a substance potent.
The could only see when they looked through purple haze.

Continuously reminded of each other's gaze,
The love no more, was each foolishly insistent.
They talked to each other past their lover's days,
But they could only see when they looked through purple haze.
