GATHERING CLOUDS

He worked feverishly to finish his task,
just doing what the great Voice asked;
and the people thought he was a nut,
the weather was perfectly calm, BUT

There were gathering clouds in the sky,
nothing serious, sure it would pass by.
The massive craft was almost done,
and the animals waited, one by one.

His family climbed aboard to share
the work that he had started there.
Working together, the job was done!
My goodness! Where was the sun?

He let the animals in, two by two,
male and female, really quite a few!
Lions and tigers, snails and skunks
all found their way to their bunks.

His beloved wife pointed up to the sky
as storm clouds gathered, way up high;
still the people below laughed and said
he was really quite crazy in the head!

It soon started to sprinkle, then to pour,
then the old man began to close the door
and they all waved to the staring crowd
as the thunder rolled in, sounding loud.

The people left behind began to mourn
and so did that beautiful young unicorn,
the flood came and they sailed away
leaving all unbelievers the price to pay.

The moral of the story is this, you see:
When the Voice speaks, get on your knee
and listen to His words or rue the day
when gathering clouds come your way.
