Shakespearian sonnet about outer beauty masking inner darkness
RAPTURED SONNET

Can raptured beauty be found in a man?
If so, it has divinely adorned you
To the extent that God chose to command,
But your intent is careless love's pursuit

Creation's Hand so fervently reveals
Beauty's grace for desire's eye to find.
Your eyes absorb my soul and all it feels,
Your lips caress your words, the lure designed.

You stand bedecked in Heavenly array,
God-gifted visage bearing heart not born
To Light, in darkness does your beauty stray.
My flesh retreats and is from longing torn!

I may by raptured beauty be enticed,
But loss of honor comes too highly priced.
