A possible view from another person's eyes. Meant to provoke thought.
A beggar on the corner watching people go by,
Indifferent to judgement, this world he'll defy.
Stripped of vanity and freed from ambition,
He gave up the war and ran from the mission.
His truth ever silent, impassive his eyes,
None ever question a life to despise.

Enduring cold and rain and a future so bleak,
When all could be fixed in forty hours a week.
"Get a job tramp", silent judgements do fly,
"I'll never be like you, for I would rather die".
Situation's simple, laziness its cause,
Spoiled by his mother, full of many flaws.

He lives our greatest fears, accepting all the scorn,
And when the pain is over, no one comes to mourn.
It's a sin for man to judge him, or add to his hell,
For our God in heaven would only wish him well.
It's a choice to give him money, or go on your way,
Pity's still rewarded, if your faith he does betray.

Eyes unclouded by illusions we all share,
Calmly takes his fate while most are in despair.
Building houses of cards on mountains of sand,
We pray to God and possessions demand.
All eyes in the mirror, an image to refine,
Impressing hapless mortals, feeling so devine.

How must we look, acting so profound,
Mere little men, stuck to the ground.
Perhaps it's not work filling him with dread,
But the quiet desperation society did spread.
His judgement will be fair, from our creator above,
With no discrimination, just God's eternal love.
