The sacrifices we all make to have the American dream.
Everyone has that American dream,
a home someday they'll own.
They'll work eighty hours every week,
to have a castle for their throne.

Dad couldn't make the soccer game,
he works his fingers to the bone.
So we can have this three bedroom,
high interest mortgage loan.

Mom's working late again tonight,
she just told me on the phone!
Dad's cursing underneath his breath,
Damn, not another night alone.

Yea we miss life so we can live,
this "keep up with the Jones".
And in the end, no matter what we spend,
it's still just sticks and stones.
