A girl's "hate" of the boy who left her alone.
And sweetheart, your tragic memory is gone
Buried six, cold feet under along with a lonely heart
Don't flatter yourself honey, thinking there is loving feelings you spawn
The only thought in her head is running away before you can tear her even more apart
All your pretty words did was shatter her soul like that empty liquor bottle
Amazing how both you and that brought temporary security, comfort
Oh, and babe, how both ended up destroying her at full throttle
Is it not wonderful how now her memories are as tasteful as that cheap import
Alcohol kills slowly but so does love
Like a gentle, accidently suicide
It is far from a situation that she can just undream of
Which is why she now falls to her knees at a loney bedside
Just a little girl raised on the promise of salvation
The only hope left letting some light glimmer through
She looks to that light, lets it in without hesitation
Maybe now the dismal gray sky will turn blue
Oh, but darling we know she's lying to herself
She just can't carry on with you so long gone
Why else would your ring be on a chain and your picture on the shelf
Of course the glass is broken and sprinkled with lyrics to a sad love song
Well babe, I guess you just made love the leading cause of death
Your memory brought her down with one more sip, one more pill
She falls to the bathroom floor as lungs take one more breath
Glass shatters, blood pours, and a beating heart is still.
