Apprehension

Apprehension is the color of the middle stop light;
It sounds like the biting of nails
And tastes an emetic.
It smells like fresh baked cake;
It looks like a person standing still.
It makes me wonder.

Apprehension is the black of question marks;
It sounds like the screeching of brakes
And tastes like doubt.
It smells like curiosity.
Apprehension looks like a turnabout;
It makes me inquisitive.

Apprehension is the color of snow on the street;
It sounds like the tapping of feet.
It tastes like an unknown future
And smells like sweat without exercise.
It looks like an unfinished canvas.
Apprehension makes me want to leave.

Apprehension is the annoying habit to overanalyze.
