This is a poem about homelesness, through a childs eye.
Standing alone, in my own little world
With my parents by my side
No food to eat, no bed to sleep
On the corner, we hold a sign

I'm ignored by my wants, I'm ignored by my needs
My birthday has done went by
A dollar bill out the window, from a strangers hand
My father, he starts to cry

Dinner last night, was one can of beans
Split between us three
Last night at a park, and sat on a bench
We slept beneath some trees

"Get a job you bums!", yells a man from a car
My father just smiles and waves
A five dollar bill out the window, from a strangers hand
A childs life, he was trying to save

The day was light, now turning dim
we slept in an abandoned car
For this night, we had nothing to eat
No money for food, we could not go far

The next days are the same, in my own little world
I still have no bed to sleep
Yet I know that my parents are tring so hard
Their love, in my heart, I'll keep
