summer of love
the wind picked up around my numb feet. my choice of slipper-like slip-ons was bad one, based on haste. i just really wanted to get to daisy's as soon as possible. be with the girl i love.
the summer days were just turning over to reveal their true manifesto. the sun was, high, the days warm and long. and the freedom fresh. not a care in the world i strolled, hand in my pockets fast paced punk blared from my ipod. as the last few bars of the song faded away i rounded the corner into the park. the shortcut i take everyday on my way to meet my girl, my dream, my everything.
it was empty, too early for the parents and theirs kids to play merrily on the rotting swings, and way to early for the drunks who go there most nights and down that stolen bottle of gin. thinking they themselves are uber cool and that they own the place. alone i straddled the ridge towards the left hand side, bathed in sunlight, and away from the road i carried on. getting closer my heart pounded, skipped a beat. my long black hair waved across my face, it features masked for a moment. my shorts were falling down, i quickly clawed at them. pulling my tight red tshirt over the belt loops. the wind cut through me, chilling. yet the suns natural warm keep me unnaturally warm inside. i really need to get a move on. i was all ready running late. even if only by a few minutes, it still dug into me.
the path ended, split off to directions. i took the right one. down past the lamp-post
over the road, over the hump in the land. past the other lamp-post and left in to daisy's front garden. follow the path. stand ready at the door. i turn off my ipod. unplug my world and connect to the real world.knocking the knocker. im there. in record time. she answers the door.
