I'm not finished yet and it's kind of...stupid. It's very stupid.So...don't open.
"Where are you going?!" I shouted as he began to walk across the field. He didn't look back when he whispered back an answer that was almost inaudible:

"The lake."

I stared at his shape getting smaller and smaller from the distance. My head was telling me to go, run for him. Save him. But my feet didn't budge. I just stared blankly at his figure which was now almost invisible.
The wind picked up speed sending a chill down my spine. That woke me up from the trance. I yelled after him even though I knew he couldn't hear me anymore. I started to run. Sluggishly at first. Then I began picking up speed and my fear began to expand. "John!" I called after him. I stopped. Infront of me was the dark forest.
To get to the lake I needed to take twisted paths which went deeper and deeper into the forest. I was afraid. I admit it. I was very afraid. But I was also afraid of John going to the lake. At his speeds he was probably already there.
A memory of us in the lake when we were younger nestled into my brain. I shook it off and began to run once more.
...

My brain isn't making any more words!

Anyone have any ideas?
