This poem is for my niece who is struggling with breast cancer.
The tears do not come forth,
To flow their path down my cheeks.
They hide, behind my fears,
Somewhere deep within my bowels.
I ask, "Why?"
But no answer reveals itself.
Only the empty darkness around me
And with it, the pain.
But for the warmth of his love and sacrifice,
I would be lost, forever. Amen
