Inspiration found at a dance recital.
Flash of red ignites from behind,
While the stage sits engulfed in night.
Sound tempered from all recesses,
Shooting rhythm through your veins.

You adjust your body into solace and bliss,
Electric their movements, they began to perform.
Pupils fixated upon the brilliant sight,
With cloth embraced among romantic light.

Hold your stare upon them all,
A dizzying whirl they successfully perform.
Sorted in formation among the depths,
Floating amongst a wave of teal.

Exposing their deepest sadness and regret,
They fall to the ground like the softest kiss.
Holding their forms in balls of anguish,
Waiting to rise, they deprave the crowd.

Emerald erupts, a sensual jade,
Their faces explode with a confident grin,
Feet extend in a seductive request,
Lowered in an instance leaving them vamped.

Together they turn, collaborating in score,
Robbing our resistance from us once more.
Lilac raised from behind their backs,
All eyes drawn upon them in trance.

Silent you wait, craving much more,
Wrapped on their fingers they start their encore,
Hands extend expecting some glance,
They push away leaving you all but spent.

Pose struck as the lights drop,
Hands applaud without any thought.
Curtain slams leaving us in deepest dismay.
We rise as if controlled by the marionette's wire,
