Poem from a broken heart.
Things don't last forever.
"True" love always dies.
I believed in a soulmate--
He believed he could lie.

He promised he'd
never hurt me.
He promised
love eternally.

His broken promises
never kept long
enough to be
counted as strong.

They say love is warm--
Love is only cold.
It's cruel and spites,
and breaks every mold.

I wished
Till I had no breath,
until the time
when nothing's left.

But wishing did no good.
Love doesn't last forever. Ever.
