When your heart breaks, God is there....
Destined to wander
         this world alone.
My choice guides
My heart deceives
My God I forsake.
         Why?
Love is an empty dream
         took me from my Father.
Deception portrays to me
lies lullaby me
betrayal
caresses me
         none was worth the cost.
I trusted again
once again
and again
         worthless trust.
Even now my foolish heart
unsteady heart
taken heart
         loves him who destroys.
I want to scream
         my dream-broken "why?"
I want to attack
to destroy
to kill
         he who loved only himself.
I want to mourn
to weep
to sit
in the ashes of the fire that consumed me.
But He calls to me
         "Child, beloved of mine.
My love will never hurt you.
My love will never seek another.
         My love will never end."
Trust again?
Broken trust,
Can't trust a man.
He thrusts out His right hand,
         this Prince, this King.
I look at the scars.
The scars
As those that are on my heart.
         He, too, has been hurt.
         He knows.
I hold out my heart in my hand-
A broken
useless
charred
         thing of no worth.
He takes it gently
         and begins
to heal
to love
to cherish
As no other Man could ever do.
Love mends.
