assingment, had to write story from point-of-view of opp. gender
A boy named James, that I had a crush on, had finally asked me out. I was so excited, but I must admit the date was less then romantic. Actually, it didn’t start out too bad. I had gotten all ready an hour before he was supposed to pick me up from my house. I was literally bouncing on the balls of my feet anticipating his arrival. My make up was perfect, my hair was perfect. I only hope my date had been perfect.
He arrived at my house on time at 8:30 pm, looking good as always. My parents were hiding away in the kitchen leaving us alone, so we headed off right away. Since we’re only fifteen and we can’t drive, we had to walk. However, I didn’t mind because we were only going to a nice little cafי on the corner. We talked all the way there. What we talked about I don’t remember, because I was just so excited and nervous about the date.
We took a table for two by the window.  We had just gotten our menus when the first disaster showed up. A snotty looking girl with sick straight hair, and a tiny mini skirt strode right up to our table, and slapped James square in the face. His look of utter surprise quickly turned to nervousness when he saw who she was.
“I can’t believe you!” the snotty girl screeched, and popped a loud piece of gum in my face.
“Er... I’m on a date. Can you,” he began, and started looking around nervously.
“A date!” she screeched, interrupting him.
I looked back and forth at them, puzzled. “Erm, excuse me. Who is this girl?” I asked timidly.
James sighed. “This is Victoria, my ex girlfriend,” he said like he’d give anything to be anywhere else at that moment.
“Oh,” I said, feeling a little uncomfortable.
“Nice to meet you,” she said, taking out her piece of gum, and sticking it on my napkin.
“Yeah, same,” I responded sarcastically. She was ruining my date!
She turned to James, and opened her mouth to say something. Then suddenly the chef burst out off the kitchen screaming, “HE’S A LIAR, A LIAR!”
The manager whizzed around. “What? A FIRE!” he bellowed, and quickly pulled the fire alarm.
“No, no, no, it’s not,” the chef began, but right then the sprinklers came on, and everybody started screaming.
“Ahhh, my hair’s going to ruin,” Victoria screamed, but I didn’t feel the least bit of pity for her.
Everyone in the cafי was running in the same direction toward a very small door. Therefore, everyone was tripping, and yelling.
“Come on,” James yelled, and grabbed my hand as we barely squeezed through the door.
As soon as we got out we started running. I couldn’t believe what had happened, and I was completely wet from the sprinklers. We ran all the way to the bus station, and decided to go somewhere else. We didn’t get very far because we soon heard foot steps following closely behind us. At first I thought it was Victoria, but when I turned around I almost wished it were her. Following behind us was a heavily bearded, slightly drunk looking man, and his eyes were fixed on us intently.
James turned around too, and looked extremely nervous. “Run,” he whispered.
We broke out into a sprint. It was hard for me to run, because I was wearing sandals. I nearly tripped a few times.  After a while we turned around. Unfortunately, the scary man was still following us. It was getting so dark that we could hardly see where we were going anymore. I could see that we were heading towards some tall bushes though.
“Jump into the bushes!” James said quickly.
“What?” I asked, but before I could do anything he had pushed me into them. I went right through the bushes, and fell into a lake on the other side. James fell in right next to me. We were soaked from head to toe, and started feeling around for the shore
However, before we could get out red and blue lights flashed in our eyes, and we heard an angry voice say, “Get out of the water now.”
We looked up, and saw a police man standing before us. He wrenched us out of the water, and threw us onto the other side of the bushes.
“You two are in direct violation of the law,” he spat at us, as soon as he stepped through the bushes.
         “What law?” I asked angrily.
“No one is allowed to swim in that lake unless they want a five hundred dollar fine!” the cop explained.
“We weren’t swimming. We fell in!” James shouted.
“Fell in?” he said disbelievingly, but then looked at us sopping wet in nicely dressed clothes. “Well, alright. Consider this a warning then, but next time I catch you two in that lake you’ll spend a night in jail,” he said, got back in his car, and drove off.
As soon as the cop had driven away, my older brother drove up. “You two need a ride?” he asked us. I never felt more grateful to see my older brother.
We nodded, and got into the backseat quickly. As soon as we got settled my brother stared at us with a dumbfounded expression. “What happened to you two? Did you fall in a lake?” he asked jokingly.
         “Actually, yes,” I answered.
My brother started laughing at me. “That reminds me of the time you tried ice skating on a lake in the middle of the summer.”
James began laughing hysterically. My face turned bright red. It was then that I decided my date was officially ruined, and officially over.
