The last moments of a doomed general's life.
Gentro sighed. His entire career was at an end. There was only one way the war between Arovel and Valnade could be won, and that was for the great General Gentro to intentionally meet Valnades immense force of ten thousand highly skilled troops with a battalion of just sixteen hundred soldiers from Arovel's own city garrision. The battle would take between six hours to a day, which would give enough time for an already gathered, large army some thirty mile north to curve around he hilly realm of Arovel, and attack Valnade with a force with numbers well matching there own.

"General, immediate news from the Senate in Arovel!" a messanger ran into Gentro's tent. Normally, such an intrusion would be rewarded with a flogging, but Gentro didnt have time for that now.
"Hand it here, boy,"
"Yes, sir," the messanger placed it on the table. Gentro opened it and silently read it.

"General Gentro,
We grieve the loss of you and your army. We are sure you understand that this action is necesary to the victory of Arovel and the defeat and of Valnade. We simply have a request of you in this heroic action you are about to undertake. We ask that your army have a strong right flank to drive the Valnade army to our left side of the feild, thus giving the army we are forming north of here more time to march without fear of being attacked by Valnade full force which is marching to meet us here.

With all of our respets granted to you,
the High Senate of Arovel"

Gentro sighed.
"They already plan how we're going to die.." a tear rolled down his cheeks. "Boy, get me my amour immediately!"
Gentro's personal squire shot up. "Yes, General!"
"Any enemy of Arovel deserves to die, even this army of Valnade will taste our wrath!"
