The Legend of Miss Shinnystone
THE LEGEND OF MISS SHINNYSTONE
Galore of stories has been told and re told about the Legacy Center Orphans, but there was none as moving as the one I am about to tell.
The mourning of the old teacher’s sendoff is now forgotten, as the kids prepared their worst for the arrival of their new mysterious teacher. Miss. Shinnystone is the talk of the campus, and everyone has a different opinion of her.
(Andrew and Lucy met on their way to afternoon prayer meeting.)
Andrew: Hi Lucy! How are you doing?
Lucy: Very well thank you. Oh…uh, did you hear about the new teacher?
Andrew: Oh yes, I heard a lot of things about her. Isn’t her name Miss. Shiny stone?
Lucy: Did you know she eats chickens alive?
Andrew: I just heard from Tony that she eat stones, instead of meat.
Lucy: Well I heard from Martha, who heard it from Julia that she practically loves
to eat rats and suck their blood.
(The lunch bell rang)
Andrew: Well, that’s the bell. You know what happens if we are late. See you
around, and the new teacher tomorrow.
The adults are also curious and fascinated by the rumors floating around on the campus, because of the new teacher coming tomorrow. M rs. Lane also has something to say.
“The new teacher -from what I have gathered- ,” Mrs. Lane began, “is from the gypsy family, in England.” She took her seat and continued her story. “As a little girl she began practicing Wicca and became a witch in her late teens.” By now everyone was seated and listening to her tale. “She has nine other siblings and her parent’s ghost talks to her at night. She drinks goat blood in the morning, buffalo in the afternoon and man’s blood in the night.” Cook Lane finished her story for the night and joined the kids for their nightly devotions.

***********
Morning came like a flash and many wish it never did. Some even tried to make excuses to stay in bed. Ted Harmon is to pick Miss.Shinnystone up and he dreads that. Trust me I would not have liked that either.
Miss. Shinnystone made a graceful walk down from Ted Harmon’s car and everyone gasped for breath. For one thing she is tall, blond and very pretty, just like a model. She waved hi to everyone with a genuine smile. She spoke tenderly and everyone loved her immediately.
All the kids were ordered to gather at the campus hall, to be introduced to the new teacher.
“Hello ladies and gentlemen.” Mr. Still addressed. “I have the opportunity of presenting to you today, your new teacher Miss Shinnystone, and (hopefully your friend in the near future.)” Mr. Still re adjusted his spectacle and read on. “She is a qualified teacher and a devoted Christian.” With that having been said, Mr. Still dismissed himself and Miss. Shinnystone was left alone with the kids.
“Hello my name is –“Miss Shinnystone was interrupted.
“Are you a witch?” Someone yelled from the back. “Do you eat worms for breakfast?”
another girl inquired. “Do your drink animal blood.” Sounds like a girl’s voice from afar.
Miss Shinnystone could not take it anymore, so she yelled on top her voice.
“I do not know were you heard all this from, but I am not a witch, neither do I drink animal blood.” She stopped when she had all their attention and said calmly. “Do not believe rumors, unless it has been proven.” She laughed to their questions and so did everyone else. “And that will be our first lesson of the day.”
