My team just lost the championship. Can a message from the coach help me?
Fourth Quarter. The bench is empty. So is the bleachers. i found myself in a ghost town. The Rain soaked my jersey like needles. My moral was done. My heart was empty and I cradled my head in my head.

So much for the champion game.

We lost. We lost.

22-21. Last Minute Touchdown ruined everything. It was suppose to be a perfect end to a perfect day. But with that Touchdown, My heart was ripped in half, torned and will never heal again.

I was the only one left as I sit on the cold bench and my eyes swished with tears and I was blkinded, and my heart was finally dried out.

The rain kept on pouring and it falls like a storm and the sky is still grey and black.

I then felt pressure on my shoulder as a hand gripped on my shoulder. I turned around and saw my head coach. While his eyes were sad, he still bore a smile and he gave me a father look.

"Michael, What's the matter?"
I turned around and looked at him in the eye.
"We lost, coach. We lost, our dreams shattered..." I couldnt go on I started crying again and the coach put an arm around me.

"Michael...While we did lost, while we still had our dreams shttered, and while we give everything we got and still lost, you have to know winning isn't everything"
"What do you mean?"
"What I mean is that winning is not the base of sports. Sports are meant for entertainment. Sports are meant to be enjoyed. Also, even if you win, it dosen't satisfy your need. Sportsmanship always come first. Make the most of everything, even a loss. Most of all have fun, because then you are a True Winner."

And with that, My coach left and I am alone again. I thought to myself. "Winning isnt everthing...Sportsmanship comes first, Most of all have fun, beacuse then you are a true winner." I thought through the game. I played in a Championship...I even made the playoffs...I played on a team...For once, I smiled for the first time after the loss. The Sun began to shine and the sky becames more clear. I walked toward the exit, and I finally understood what the coach meant: Having fun and showing sportsmanship is better than winning because it shows that you are a True Winner.
