Troubles with my girl keep me awake.
Staring at the phone again, still waiting for your call
Time never seems to pass so slow, don't know why I care at all.
My past mistakes still haunt my present thoughts while I'm awake,
Sleeplessness becomes the night, my dreams will have to wait.
Insomnia, I diagnose myself, my symptoms are as such:
Headache, heartache, heartbreak; I never felt so fake,
Eyes itch, back hurts, my troats dry.
I pray, "Oh, Healer in the sky, sew my heart back in one,
Never leave me, Holy Son; wash me clean and sing me to sleep,
A bedtime song."
Until she calls I'll close my eyes,
My phone will buzz, project the light of her name across the screen.
The most precious voice I've ever heard will speak her love for me.
My dreams, my dreams, how much do you cost?
My heart, my heart has never felt so lost.
