Native Americans dancing their heritage to me.
beat beat beat
beat beat beat
colors here
patterns there
strings and feathers everywhere
jump up
head down
spin spin around
long dark hair
braided so tight
beautiful skin
every shade but white
beat beat beat
beat beat beat
beats so ancient
from ancient drums
chants unknown
feet fly and float
in this dance of their own
language of their own
sound of their own
from long ago
they know their past
to the tips of its roots
and with no fear
they share with the world
things true and pure
things unknown
from the depths of their soul
beat beat beat
beat beat beat
this beautiful thing
this inspiring real thing
this world of their own
culture of their own
this amazingly deep
love of their own
