Light in the Window


Leave a light on in the window
to welcome me back home
You know I'm tired of travelling.
No longer will I roam.

Leave a light on in the window
and do not draw the blind.
Do you still match the memory
that I hold in my mind?

Leave a light on in the window
so that my eyes can see
as I draw nearer to you that
a welcome there will be.

Put out the light in the window
I see it in your eyes
that a warm embrace awaits me.
You have not cut the ties.
