The sound of buffalo thunder and what it manifests.
BUFFALO    THUNDER



I heard thunder in the ground
Pounding like a great drum

Clouds of dust
Covered the sky
The sun
Black like stone

Mother Earth moaned
Under the weight of the buffalo

The strength of their spirits
Moved as one
Like a wave

I imagined my relatives
Riding into the herd
Proudly, without fear

My heart pounded
Like buffalo thunder
