somewhat of a parable/freestyle about breaking through the barriers of life
she came home crying
and her mother asked her what was wrong
but she ignored her and went upstairs
she locked her door and screamed and threw things
with no regard for the one on the other end

she yelled at him and screamed and threatened
but none of that would make it better
but she continued to throw her fit
she screamed then cried, then screamed again
she threw her books her love and her life away

she packed up her things and crawled out the window
she climbed down the tree and realized this was great
she could feel her freedom rising and unleashing it's power
but why did she leave her parents did nothing
and her friends did nothing

it was a single solitary person
that made her need to run away
to get away and be herself
was her real self unacceptable
no just strange and unknown

she had to find out what her life would be like away
away from friends family relationships and distractions
all of these things are just in her way after all
if she had the been weak it might have lasted
but she wasn't & she couldn't leave she realized she had to much to lose

so she went around to the front yard
opened the door, and walked in again
and again her mother questioned what she was doing
this time she answered "breaking through"
her mother looked at her strangely but then wrapped her in a warm hug

so take this parable and make something of it
we are all self centered and to be great we must overcome our greatest urges
the urge to leave and be alone, the urge to die or hurt
these things after all are just distractions what we really need is family and friends
it is the sad truth when we run away all we do is hurt, ourselves and our relations

so i ask you to take the challenge and overcome your greediness
run through the paper banner of obsticales and pain
when you must take time off but try to seize the moments of happiness
make them last and get you through tough times and moments of weakness
remember to break through the barrier of life and be strong as long as you can
