A poem about hiding who we really are and neglecting ourselves.
So many questions
So much hurt
Makes her doubt what she’s worth
So many faces
Call out so many words
That she deprives herself of the attention she really deserves
Focussing on everyone else
And not on herself
Scared of what she will find if she delves in to her soul
Her made-up face
Her twisted smile
Shield her from the rest of the world
She’s fooled herself
And everyone else
Her life has become a bitter-sweet masquerade
