young girl awakes to horror
The light started to make its way into the room where she was sitting in the corner. The room was empty and cold and only one small window at the top of the wall that made the illusion of a dark cave seem only a horrific glimpse from the comfort of the outside world. She could not remeber which day it was or where she was. She stood up and walked over toward the weindow slowly fearing to make any sound not knowing what it would bring into the room. It was too high for her to see out even on tip toes. She slid her hands down her side when she noticed that her clothes were not hers. Wearing a concert t-shirt of some kind and shorts was not her usual attire. These clothes were tattered and in near ruins and as she looked down to her feet she noticed that there was mud caked onto her legs. She lifted her hands to cover her face and started to softly cry. She tried to make sense of where she was and how she got there but the memory of it all wouldnt come clear. She walked over to where she saw a door through the shadows beneath the ray of sun coming through the window. The door was wooden and looked very old, almost centuries old. It was outlined with a black metal down its face and was shaped like a castle doorway. She put her hand to the door and felt a cold chill that seeped through the cracks of the old door. She brought her hands back to her and wrapped them around her body for warmth. Her tears never stopped but she stayed quiet. She drew her ear close to the door in hopes to hear anything moving about or anyone. No noise was detected. Looking around the entire room slowly she could find no means of escape including the one window that only a toddler could climb through. She slid herself down the length of the door to sitting on her heals with her back to the door. The room was getting warmer with the light from the window shining brighter and brighter. What was happening to her and why was she here dressed in filth? These questions put more fear into her as she began to weep a little more noisily.
A sudden noise woke her from a fallen sleep. She sat up alertly making sure as to not make any noise. She could hear footsteps coming louder by each second. As it came very near to the door that imprisoned her she moved back to the far wall. Her eyes were wide with fright and her body started to shiver at the sound of the lock being opened. The door slowly came open and a figure stood there looking at her. She couldnt make out his face from the light that shined from behind him from the outdoors. She started to shiver more. This is it, this is where my life ends.  She then puts her face into her hands and starts to scream as loud as she could so that someone could hear her from the outside.
A voice echoed throughout the room but her hands kept her eyes from the figure in which the voice came from. " Please dont kill me," she cried out from inside her cupped hands. "Please don't kill me."
The man began to walk toward her and the sound from his heavy boots would be the horrific sound she will always remember if she survives.
