A poem that reflects the journey we all travel.
Penetrating injuries too deep to mend,
A wounded bird slows not its flight,
Feathers struggle to the journey’s end,
Pushing toward the rescue of the star’s light.

Unforgiving cold curves the path,
Yet the destination still shines hot.
Wicked breaths sting with cruel wrath,
Bright, burning eyes close not.

Icy wet sticks to each tattered feather,
Seeking to clean the open gash,
Paving the path through dangerous weather,
Blinking away the blinding ash.

The journey is clear,
Graceful winds hold him tight,
Healing hands of light pull him near,
Embracing the broken case with its final sight.
