This is one of my favorite poems out of all I have written.
Beautiful corpse of time, the sun hath blocked your view.
The bells within the earth, forever they ring so true.
Eyes look up in wonder, in sorrow they look below.
Empty, lonely, fragile – they have nowhere to go.
Zombies walk the earth, numb to all they see.
There’s nothing more to feel; they want to be free.
Blood spills from their faces, as the lies they cannot hide.
Yet this element of secret things, somewhere still abides.
These soft things that flow deep beneath my hands
Are forever creeping up on me, taking me to foreign lands.
Deep love still exists below the surface of my brain.
Depression makes me weak, and covers me in stains.
Bloodstains that you see, the tiny cuts you don’t.
I ask you – dare you- take my hand, but you say you won’t.
Beautiful corpse of time, forever my face does lie.
But look within my heart, for all it says is die!
