my last relationship
You aren't ready,
or so you say.
So once again
it's me who pays.

Your back up tells me
I'm to blame.
That I pushed you away.
Didn't you do the same?

You say that you love me
and then run away.
Pretend like you can prove
what it is you say.

How could you truly love me
yet ignore that I exist?
How is it you think you're here,
when I'm all alone in this tryst?

Thanks for the reminder,
that men can be so cold.
Reel you in and trap you
until you're boring and you're old.

So quickly they forget
of how things were at first.
Before you became a convenience
simply something to quench his thirst.

So much to say,
but he loses his words.
Pretends there was something
before he lost his nerve.

So goodnight to the phantom
that gap that holds my heart.
Simply another decay
from such a beautiful start.
