a poem for my boyfriend
Love of mine, your green eyes haunt me,
They sink into my mind where they reside. A silent reminder of your very being.
I can almost feel you on the wind,
My senses tingle with the anticipation of seeing you, only to drown in despair as the realization squeezes my heart in an iron fist, you aren’t here.
Unwanted thoughts crash into me, stop me in my tracks and leave me gasping for breath.
What if I lose you?
To never see you again would be like if the sun forgot to rise in the morning, or the great oak tree without its roots.
To never kiss your lips again is like the waves never reaching the shore, or the nigh sky without the stars.
The thoughts leave me shaken and cold.
To lose you would be to render my world colorless. A rose, prominent with thorns, drawing blood at the slightest touch.
My love for you will never fail, as long as the rivers run with water and the moon bathes the ocean in its pale glow.
No matter how hard the storms may beat at my heart, they will never tear down the castle wall.
Embedded so deep are my feelings for you, nothing could change my mind.
