poetry, fear
Looking back I've had many oppurtunities
Each time I let myself slip away
Ignoring and avoiding the truth
Feelings have been disregarded enough
Now I try
Allowing emotions to infect my mind
Opening the lock to my once ice-covered heart
Terrified I walk this road
All is unfamiliar
Every step is awkward
My shadow urges me to keep going
Demanding courage and an open mind
Paranoia clings to me
I attempt to mask passion
The paranoia suppresses itself
Deep inside my soul
Recovering petrified I still walk
Strolling the road disguised as serenity
Without doubt it will revive itself
Until the moment I overcome the fear.
