Feelings expressed when a woman loses her love in a car accident.
Goodbye, My Love

Darkness shows its withered face,
my heart cries out with sorrow.
My arms still reach for your embrace,
yet you're gone from my tomorrow.

Squalling brakes and shattered glass
are littering my mind.
Our life together has come to pass,
how was I left behind?

One brief moment stole from me,
my love whom I held dear.
My heart knows to set you free,
But it clings to you in fear.

Now you have gone, were pulled away,
stolen quickly from my heart.
Although I'm here and I must stay
my life cannot restart.

And as I mourn, you've left this place.
I will pray to God above
to keep you in His warm embrace
and protect my only love.
