Someone should care about the girl with it all.
Slipping Away

Coming from the shadows, a lonely wail
Of a heart too far beyond the pain.
Dying inside because she did fail,
And how to her Father could she explain?

Throwing away her life, it seemed,
And everything she had gained.
Worthless and pathetic they deemed
And years full of love they feigned.

Giving into it, she finally is
Letting herself slip into the light.
Worried of only those she'll miss,
Yet willing to let go of the fight.

She neither begged to live nor pleaded
From the people who never dared.
The blood wouldn't have been needed
If only someone had cared.

This poem came about when I wrote the first verse after receiving bad marks in a class for the grading period (of which was not my control, a lot of personal reasons there.) and I was feeling down and thought about disappointing my father. Then, I decided to use the first verse to write a story that I was going to dedicated to my grandmother. Even though the story is about a girl and her father, the message is still the same. Then, just today in my 5th class of the day, I elaborated on the first verse to arrive at this. I must say, it was an unexpected arrival.
