Thank you kelly1202for creating the above Banner which symbolizes and depicts my journey from childhood to a young woman, as these Poems are, within themselves, the poetic diary of my life, its chosen and not so chosen paths, and all that would lie sweetly, or violently, in-between.

All the Poems showcased in this folder were written when I was a young woman in my mid-20's, and some that go back even further, when I was ten years old. I have been writing since the age of nine, so, I have a Repertoire that spans a lifetime, journaling experiences and how I dealt with emotions and trauma and just existence in general.

You will see here, as in the present, my testing the waters of the Free Verse, Stream of Consciousness Style I adopted from the Great Masters such as e.e. cummings and T.S. Eliot, my strong backbone of early influence. I am in no way saying that I am as good as the Masters, believe me; all I'm saying is, I never did write in Traditional Form much, back then, or now, so, if you're looking for structured format, you will not find it here. I've always written in the Free Form/Free Verse style of composition. I write the same way today ~ using abstract imagery and heavy metaphor.

I grew up in a volatile era ~ the 60's and 70's, an era of unrest, the Viet Nam War, Rock & Roll (the Beatles, Elvis); the heyday of Hippiedom, Conscientious Objectors, and where it seemed priorty to know your place, and find your personal identity to stand out, alone and strong in the unsure wind. This is my struggle.

I ran across some of my old notebooks and type-written papers (the Age before the onslaught of computers, so, many of these were typed on an actual Electric typewriter, LOL) ~ another lifetime ago. I think it's important to witness growth, whether good or bad. For I have grown, in leaps and bounds, not only in my writing style which always reflected the Great Free Verse Style Masters such as e.e. cummings, T.S. Eliot and Poe (my earliest Poetic heroes/influence) but my growth as a member of humanity.

I have yet another pile of writings I know, still hidden away in storage. When I dig them out, those writings too will call this Folder home. Please trust that no wordage or the original way stanzas were placed were in any manner altered or updated. I've remained true to the integrity of everything as is, how it was, at the time of the original writing, some of which was well over thirty years ago.

Many of these poems (not all) appeared in my first book of published poems, "Dreaming White Horses" when I was twenty-two years old. Thank you for reading and taking the journey with me down life's crooked and dangerous path, seeing the world with me through young and unsure eyes ~ where more often than not, giant obstacles met me along the way, and not just forks in the road.
