Inspired by my last relationship, but not autobiographical. Designed to be read aloud.
Shying into You

I ripped up that love letter I wrote you -
Thought it was safer that way
Rather it than me...
Rather me than you.
It's easier to just lie back,
Shying away from the words
So easy for you to interpret.
Bare-faced honesty could be painful
For a short time, such as ours, this will be simpler.
Let's just go to bed.
