A poem about addiction
The Rose(Green Velvet)

In the blink of an eye,
important years have gone by.
My wrinkles show the age,
but the wisdom never came.

My fragile potential,
crumbled like a coffee cake.

Entranced by your meditation,
but now I wish to awake.

A comatose rose
hoping to catch someone's eye.
But pointy thorns show,
so they all pass me by.

tightly seized the reins
to my amenable brain,
But dressed in pleasant green velvet
who could ever just leave you?

Breathe it, Breathe it in;
A sweet taste of what I've missed.

But a bite becomes a dinner,
and a peck becomes a kiss.

A withering rose
waiting to finally die,
But the clouds won't snow
so slowly I will dry.
