A poem telling of my love and my inability to act on it.
"A Perfect Picture"

When she looks at me I fall apart.
When she shows her smile I get a tingle in my chest
Blood pumps faster to compete with my beating heart.
I shut my jaw, offer a smile and stand straighter
Hoping once to bate her.

If only she knew of the feelings I hide
Maybe then I would be so lucky as to hear her voice,
Feel the gentle touch of her sweet caress,
Awakening feelings deep inside,
Putting me in a state of great distress.
But she didn't, and she never would.

She flipped her hair
A simple gesture I just couldn't bare.
If I were brave I would reveal my emotions
But I'm not, and I would never dare.
So I did what I do best
I turned and left.

Never would my hunger abate
So this matter would remain a debate.
Neither side to win or lose
Slowly tearing me apart, never able to choose.
