A certain meeting which hurt.
The way you looked at me
Brought my heart away from my head.
I had various thoughts;
Thoughts which could put me to bed.
Yet my heart did not stop
And I did not blink out tears.
I looked away from you slowly
As if to shut away all my fears.
I am sorry you can read me,
I am sorry I'm broken at my seams.
I wish I could hide it all completely,
But I'm vulnerable; I've wrecked my dreams.
You were my heart, and you were my mind;
I was just a title; just a small name.
Even though I hoped and believed--
It turned out only to be my hurt and my shame.
