A child should never have to suffer through something so horrible...
Screams smothered by an intruders hand.
Panic showcased in a child's eyes.
What had she done to deserve this?
She sat silently on her bedroom floor
putting together her fairyland puzzle
when the strange man broke in.
He destroyed her bedroom window
with one swing of his baseball bat.
Then, he hoisted himself through.
She sat there stunned.
She knew she should run,
but her legs would not respond.
The man flashed an innocent smile
and told her not ot be afraid.
He just wanted to have some fun.
She didn't understand until it was too late.
He picked her up off of the floor
and gently lowered her to her bed.
Then, he began to stroke her hair
and tell her how pretty she was.
His hand slowly moved from her hair
to caress her trembling lower lip.
She let out a whimper
only to receive a hard smack to the face.
She fell back on her bed crying.
That's when he made his move.
He ripped off her pretty white blouse
and tore off her favorite pink skirt.
That's when the screaming started.
She screamed and screamed,
although she knew no one would come.
Now,everything about her...

is black.
