First chapter for Edgar and Elise
Elise was sitting in her room, silent as a mouse. The only sound was the strokes of Elise's paint brush. She swiftly moved the brush along the paper. The colors swirled into an optical illusion on the paper.

Elise stopped. She felt a pair of eyes staring at her. She turned towards the door. Edgar was standing there, leaning against the wall. He curved his mouth into a thin smile.

"Did I scare you?" He asked, but it sounded more like a statement. Elise crossed her arms and frowned.

"Nothing scares me." Elise replied. Edgar laughed. He walked towards Elise and sat on the edge of her bed.

"Are you sure I don't scare you?" Edgar moved closer towards her. Elise slid backwards toward her pillow.

"Why should I be scared of you?" She asked, slowly moving off the bed.

"Because we're not fully acquainted." Elise brushed her bangs aside.

"So what do you plan to do with me?" She got off the bed, heading towards the door.

"Well, what do you think? I think we should get acquainted." Elise stopped in her tracks, and went towards Egdar.

"So you want to know me better?" Elise was puzzled. She had thought he was going to do something else.

"Why, of course! Hmmmm....let me guess. You thought I was trying to....rape you?" Elise nodded and put her head down.

"I don't know everything, Edgar. I don't have any experience with romance and sex. You need to help me learn these things to prepare me for the real world!" Edgar looked at, slightly confused.

"Elise, this is the real world." Edgar wrapped his arms around Elise. She stifled a yawn, but tried to hide it from Edgar.

"Are you tired? Do you want me to leave?" He stood up and waited for an answer.

"No, no!" Elise said quickly. "I'm not that tired! Please stay!" She gave Edgar the puppy face.

"Ok, I'll stay. But if you yawn again, then I'm going to go home, alright?" Elise nodded once. Edgar cuddled next to Elise.

They sat there for hours, talking about their favorite bands and board games. When twilight came, Edgar said to Elise, "I must go."

"Wait!" She whispered, so quiet Edgar couldn't almost hear it as he walked out the door.

"I'm sorry, Elise." Elise watched him go and sighed. Why did he have to leave? Edgar didn't tell her that he had plans. But it seemed strange to her that he left exactly at twilight. Elise shook her head. She was tired, and had been trying not to yawn. After awhile, Elise fell into a deep sleep.

When dawn had come, Elise heard tapping on her window. She opened the blinds and saw Edgar throwing little rocks at her window. When Edgar saw her, he bowed to her.

"Care for a little adventure?" Elise smiled and said, "I'll be right down." Just as she turned around, Elise saw Edgar, standing perfectly still in her doorway. She gasped. How did he get here so fast? She looked out the window. Edgar wasn't there.

"How'd you do that?" She asked, lifting one eyebrow up.

"That's a secret." He replied, turning to leave the room.

"Don't worry, I'll give you some privacy." Edgar left the room and closed the door. He waited by the side of the door. Elise took off her night shirt and grabbed a black bra. She strapped it on and took a black shirt from her closet. She pulled on a My Chemical Romance hoody and put on some lime green socks.

When she opened the door, Edgar was waiting for her. Edgar took her hand and they walked down the stairs. "Do you happen to know where my parents are?" Edgar shrugged. "Who knows where they could be hiding in this tiny house?" As they went out the front door, Edgar stopped and looked her in the eyes.

"You must never tell anyone of this place that we about to go to. Do you understand?" He asked, it looked as though he was begging Elise.

"Ok, Edgar. I promise not to tell anyone."

"Hop on my back." Elise did as she was told.

"Now, hold on tight." Elise gripped Edgar's shoulder. She never realized how muscular he was. Elise could feel the world spinning around her. She closed her eyes. The feeling was exhilarating.

Suddenly, Elise felt the spinning stop. Edgar set her down, and she whispered, "You can open your eyes now."
