The dreams of a frustrated soldier...
                                                Dream

I become a stranger to myself as I journey into the dreams of a thousand lost souls. It seems all too real now. The sight, sounds, smells....the taste. I witness the sky become dim and unstable as the storms sway in. I smell the thick wet air as I breathe deeper and deeper. Running now, going nowhere, stuck running in place as it seems. I taste the bitterness of the Gods through the rain as it falls upon my now solemn face. I hear the pleas of those whom I cannot see. At that very moment the sky begins to part and the sun shines through. I then begin to realize that none of this is real. I know this now because there is no feel, no touch. I could not feel the cooling of the air as the clouds began to take the sky hostage, I could not touch the puddle of lonely tears that lay at my feet, and I could not feel the helpless frustration and pain of the unseen around me. I wake. I grin. Snooze button.
