Moment of Clarity

I hear the wind tap against my window,
somehow it seems to call my name.
I open the blinds as the sun repeats my summon;
whispers...chants....silently screams,
as it bathes my body in blissful warmth

I feel an odd sensation.
For once in my short life; I know myself
Who I am is no longer a mystery.
My soul is not a puzzle.

I reach and fail to touch a higher being,
though I know I will soon succeed.
I know not where my body is.
Home feels so far away,
almost like a distant dream.

The stress in me has gone away.
Now I feel nothing but peace and serenity.
The secrets of life have been unchained.

Knowledge pours through my veins like blood.
I hardly even notice that my heart has stopped beating,
or that my lungs have stopped breathing,
as I openly embrace death.
